The Payment Giant Mastercard has files metaverse and total 15 NFT or non fungible token trademark applications with the USPTO or the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The highlights of the plans include interacting with the virtual community for digital assets, processing the card payments in the Metaverse, creating an online marketplace for the sellers and buyers of downloadable digital goods, virtual reality events, etc.
One of the trademark filings of the company has different multimedia files with the likes of text, video, artwork and audio and all of them will be authenticated by the NFTs. Another request filing suggests plans to use the Red and Yellow logo spheres to authorize the transaction or card payments of the world of metaverse and other virtual worlds.
The other patents are intended to add the name of Mastercard in multiple cultural events, festivals, concerts, award shows, sporting events that will be conducted in the Metaverse and also the likes of financial and educational seminars will also be included in the meantime.
