Crypto staking platform Everstake and famous crypto exchange platforms Kuna and FTX have partnered with the government officials of Ukraine in order to set in motion a donation website where people can send crypto in order to help the Ukrainian citizen and the country. The platform users have already donated US 48 million in USD through cryptocurrency to the government wallet, which is roughly 24 percent of the platform’s US 200 million dollars goal.
Through an announcement on Monday, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine had stated that they had launched Aid for Ukraine. This is a crypto donation accepting platform where people can contribute using Solana (SOL), Polkadot (DOT), Ether (ETH), Neo (NEO), Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Icon (ICX), Tether (USDT) and Monero (XMR). The donation will help the citizens of Ukraine in their fight for freedom because from February 24, most of the parts of the country have been occupied by the Russian military forces.
The donated funds will be directly transferred to the National Bank of Ukraine, and the money will be used for daily necessities and ammunition. The main aim is to support the armed forces of Ukraine and assist in the human aid programs. Donations in the form of Fiat currencies are also being accepted by the central bank of Ukraine. The aid for Ukraine projects has shown us how the traditional financial system and global crypto community can work together.
The wallet addresses shared by the Twitter handle of the Ukrainian government have been consolidated by the platform. However, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a lot of crypto firms have pledged to support Ukraine. Kraken, the United States-based cryptocurrency exchange platform, has announced that they will be donating one thousand dollars to each Ukrainian user who has signed up on the platform before March 9. Another NFT marketplace, the Bored Ape Yacht Club, has stated that they will donate a total of 1 million in ETH.
A lot of different organizations and government-related wallets have received donations from different places and individuals, totaling 108 million US dollars that will be used to help the people of Ukraine. Ukraine right now is receiving funds while Russia is facing sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United States. In the last two weeks, Many private business and banking giants such as Mastercard, Visa and Goldman Sachs have cut ties with Russia.
